you are out cruising with
friends or planning to race. Menu includes scrambled eggs,
pancakes, biscuits and gravy,
sausage, breads, muffins, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, mimosas, and
bloody marys. All for

be served from !0:00 am
to 11:30 am. For planning purposes,
Reservations are required. Make one here

...And Long Distance Race
For those of you so
inclined, please join the Memorial Day Long Distance Race. We will
have a Skippers Meeting at noon. The race is a staggered start,
with the slowest boats
starting at 1:00 pm and the fastest boats starting as late as 2:30
pm. The race ends at
4:00 pm with what we hope is a big tangle of boats. And of course,
trophies and rehash
to follow.
Make Up Work Party
For those of you who missed the
regular work party, the make up work party is Saturday,
June 2, 2012 from 9 am to 3 pm. Be sure to pay the 2nd half of your
dues the easy way, by
coming to the work party this June.

Ave, Sand Springs, OK,
on Thursday, May 24th. The test begins at 6:45 pm. Please be prompt

done within an hour. The test is: jump in wearing sailing clothes
including shoes, tread
water for 5 minutes, swim 25 yards, then don a lifejacket.
The test can be taken at the lake too. Call Michael Jones at

Adult Sailing Classes - Starts June
4th
Classes will be on Monday evenings this year. They begin June 4th,
6 pm and continue each
Monday for 8 weeks. Classes are for beginner and novice sailor. The
goal is to have members
be comfortable on their boats. The classes, on and off water, will
be about what you want
to learn. Approaching and leaving the dock, proper and effective
rigging, safety, anchoring,
and where ever else the instruction takes us. The lead instructor
is IV McNamara, plus
a number of other experienced skippers and owners from Windycrest.
They will help take
you, your boat, and your knowledge of sailing to the next level.
Contact Rear Commodore Michael Jones 918-845-0145 or IV at
918-978-4232 for more info
Also just show up on June 4th. It is informal, and for all members.

New Directory
The 2012-13 Windycrest
directory is out. Secretary Pam Low has done a superb job on
collecting and arranging all our information. Please note in the
very last pages is a new
section which lists members by the docks and lots in which their
boats are located.
Since we have some Club functions assigned by lots and docks,
please use the list for
contacts and planning purposes.
Please take a few minutes to review the Club Rules and By-Laws
found in the directory.
Your knowledge of them helps Windycrest run smoother for all of us.
CPR Training
The CPR Training Course is scheduled
for May 24th at 6:00 pm. It will be at the Fire
Fighters Union Hall at 1283 S. Detroit. It runs about 3 hours.
