Homepage to Windycrest's training programs for juniors and adults.
Windycrest Sailing Club has a long tradition of excellence in junior sailing in
the southwest region of the country. For over 40 years Windycrest has been
training junior sailors that participate in CSSA regional events, US Sailing
Junior Championships, sail in collegian programs, and pursue our sport after
reaching adulthood. We also offer adult training programs for beginning and
novice sailors. Occasionally we have seminars and courses for advanced cruising
and racing sailors. Windycrest training programs strives to improve your sailing
skills regardless of your level of expertise, allowing you to reach you sailing
goals. All WSC training is overseen by US Sailing certified instructors. The
Club owns Optimist, Sabot, Sunfish, Club 420, and Laser fleets for training
purposes.
If you are interested in learning to sail, the Windycrest training programs are
a great place to start. It is a fun, low key, inexpensive place to begin.
Minimum age to participate is 8 years old, and your never too old to learn.

Registration Forms
Instructions: Fill out the forms on-line. print two copies, one
for yourself and one for the Club. Be sure to sign the Club's copy in the
appropriate spaces. Mail to: Windycrest Sailing Club; Attn: Doug Lewis; PO Box
4731; Tulsa, OK 74159-4731.Contact Doug with any questions.
Rear Commodore Doug Lewis has been putting together
plans for Summer 2010 training programs. Below is the schedule for
Junior and Adult training programs. Juniors are for kids from age 8 to 18. Adult
(SEA) programs are for any level of sailors in the Club.
INSTRUCTORS
Windycrest can use you. If you are a US Sailing certified instructor, Doug could
use your help in helping directing the programs. If you are interested in
becoming an instructor, please contact Doug (272-7044) as soon as possible and
he'll help to get you your certification. CPR/First Aid training needs to be
renew annually. If you need to renew please check out the
Tulsa Area Red Cross Page and schedule your update.

Membership is required to participate in the Windycrest training programs.
Participants do not need to own a boat. The Club has age and experience
appropriate boats for your use.
Minimum age to participate in the training programs is 8 years old.
No sailing experience is required to participate in the programs.
A swim test is required to be passed to participate.
Coast Guard approved PFD's, appropriate clothing, hats, sunscreen, water
bottles, etc.are
required.
